Silent Hill 2 remake developer Bloober Team is developing seven new horror games, including the previously announced Silent Hill remake and a new horror game for Nintendo platforms, according to a new report from Gamesindustry.biz. To account for this new multi-project structure, Bloober Team has appointed Thaine Lyman as head of studio, Katya Baukova as director of business development, and Michał Gembicki as head of publishing.
Lyman will oversee the production pipeline and development teams of the new horror games at Bloober Team. Baukova will lead strategic partnerships, franchise growth, and global expansion, and Gembicki will handle Bloober Team’s publishing strategy and oversee global distribution. According to CEO Piotr Babieno, Bloober Team will continue to operate with two “first-party” production teams.
Konami and Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2 remake was released on October 8, 2024 for PlayStation 5 and PC (Steam), followed by the Xbox Series X|S version this past November. Silent Hill 2 features third-person action similar to the likes of the recent Resident Evil games, and it’s one of the highest rated games of 2024 on Metacritic with an 86 Metascore, and Final Weapon awarded Silent Hill 2 a 4.5 out of 5 score. The new Silent Hill remake is currently in full production.
