Netflix has announced the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Part 7 – Steel Ball Run anime will be streaming weekly with a split-cour release starting in fall 2026 with the “2nd STAGE.” According to Netflix, the Steel Ball Run anime was always planned to follow this weekly release format.

Titled STEEL BALL RUN JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, the anime premiered on March 19 with a 47-minute-long first episode dubbed the “1st STAGE.” The single episode’s release caused a huge amount of backlash and outcry among hundreds of thousands of fans around the world. It’s clear that most fans prefer weekly releases of anime, just like Crunchyroll’s spring 2026 lineup

It’s 1890, in America, the Steel Ball Run — the first horse racing championship across the North American continent — was about to begin. Spanning around 4,000 miles, the race offered 50 million dollars as the winning prize.

Johnny Joestar, once being hailed as a genius jockey, is now paralyzed and lost in despair. He finds hope in the mysterious phenomena caused by Gyro Zeppeli, an outlaw aiming to win the race, and determines to participate in the Steel Ball Run Race.

Each having their own goal in mind, the two form an alliance and set foot upon the grueling adventure and race.

Hirohiko Araki is currently penning and writing part nine of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, titled The JOJOLands.
