One week away from launch, Nintendo and The Pokémon Company have revealed some more tidbits about Pokémon Champions characters Caraway and Kajima, along with their official designs. Caraway and Kajima are central figures operating in Frontier City, the main setting of Pokémon Champions.
Here are the newly revealed details and designs, via Nintendo’s official X (formerly Twitter) account:
Caraway
Caraway is the owner of the Battle Arena where players will compete. She’s interested in discovering new talent and helping Trainers become the strongest they can be.
Kajima
Kajima is the mayor of Frontier City, and he promotes Pokémon battles as a form of entertainment to expand the pool of competitors and get more people interested in Pokémon.
Pokémon Champions will release for both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 on April 8, and fans can wishlist the game right now in the Nintendo eShop. The iOS and Android versions will launch in summer 2026. The game is also compatible with Pokémon HOME, allowing players to team up with Pokémon brought over from past Pokémon series games and Pokémon GO.
At launch, the game will be free-to-start. However, you can purchase the Pokémon Champions + Starter Pack to get increased box space, battle themes from the Pokémon: Let’s Go games, 30 teammate tickets, and 50 training tickets. There will be various modes to choose from, such as casual, ranked, and private battles, and the different ways in which you can unlock new Pokémon and upgrade them. Certain Pokémon, including Mega Meganium, Mega Emboar, and Mega Feraligatr, possess never-before-seen abilities.
