Kantai Collection (KanColle) developer C2Architecture have announced Ki-Gou Keikaku, a new historical sci-fi strategy RPG for PC and mobile. Ki-Gou Keikaku is fully 3D and set in an alternate Showa era featuring mechs and “new systems” that prioritize communication. Several new screenshots for the game were also shown revealed on C2Architecture’s official X (formerly Twitter) account.

Ki-Gou Keikaku has been in the works before KanColle, but the game was put on hold due to KanColle’s unexpected popularity, according to C2Architecture. Development has been steady for the past few years, and the game is now considered a large-scale project. The game’s main character designs are being handled by Konishi and Shibafu, too. The studio’s official website also notes that there are new intellectual property projects that are being developed alongside Ki-Gou Keikaku and KanColle

From the mind of creator Kensuke Tanaka, the popular Kantai Collection franchise first started with the release of the web browser title on April 23, 2013 in Japan. That same day, an official bi-monthly manga series by Ryōta Momoi would enter serialization. KanColle would become very successful in just a few short years, spawning an anime series, video games, light novels, and much more. The most recent entry in the long-running series is the KanColle: Itsuka Ano Umi De anime series, which ran from November 2022 to March 2023.
