Bandai Namco Filmworks has announced the TV anime adaptation of Yū Chiba’s Kindergarten WARS manga series will premiere in spring 2027. A new promotional video and key visual for Kindergarten WARS were also revealed at AnimeJapan 2026.
Shinsuke Gomi directs the Kindergarten WARS anime at Sunrise. Felix Film is also animating the series. Junko Yamanaka is the character designer.
The main cast of the anime adaptation includes Atsumi Tanezaki as Rita and Kentarō Kumagai as Doug.

Chiba launched the manga series on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ app and website in September 2022. Shueisha published the manga’s 15th compiled book volume on August 4, and over 1.7 million copies are in circulation. Chiba’s Kindergarten WARS -LUKE- spinoff manga launched in November 2024 as a 180-page story about the character Luke.
Shueisha’s MANGA Plus website publishes the Kindergarten WARS manga digitally in English. Yen Press published the manga’s first volume physically this past April. Here’s an overview of the story, via Yen Press:
