SEGA has released an updated version of the Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds post-launch roadmap, which features both paid DLC and free updates. More characters will be available in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds in the coming months.
The post-launch roadmap features content from both the Season Pass (which costs $29.99), as well as free content additions. The Season Pass includes the following collaborative content:
- Minecraft – Q4 2025
- Playable characters: Steve, Alex, and Creeper
- Minecraft-themed course and vehicle
- SpongeBob SquarePants – Q4 2025
- Playable characters: SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick
- SpongeBob SquarePants-themed course and vehicle
- PAC-MAN – Q1 2026
- Playable characters: Pac-Man and rival ghosts
- PAC-MAN-themed course and vehicle
- Mega Man – Q2 2026
- Playable characters: Mega Man and Proto Man
- Mega Man-themed course and vehicle
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – Q3 2026
- Avatar Legends – Q3 2026
Additionally, thus far, the following free characters have released: Hatsune Miku, Joker (Persona 5), Ichiban Kasuga, NiGHTS, AiAi from Super Monkey Ball, and Tangle and Whisper from the Sonic IDW comics. All of the characters have also released alongside themed vehicles. Further, more characters will release for free in the next few weeks and months, which include:
- Red (April 2026)
- Red from Angry Birds as a playable character
- Super Roaster vehicle
- Goro Majima (Captain Majima, April 2026)
- Goro Majima (Captain Majima) as a playable character
- Goromaru vehicle
- Arle (May 2026)
- Arle from Puyo Puyo as a playable character
- Twinkle Bayoen vehicle
Three more free characters will release at no additional cost in both Q2 and Q3 2026. It is unknown if more DLC and characters will release afterwards. Lastly, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is available now for PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam. Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Nintendo Switch 2 Edition will also be available at physical retailers on March 26 for $69.99. Moreover, this version features the full game on the cartridge.
