Seven Seas Entertainment has officially announced that Media Do International acquired the publisher for $80 million. Media Do International is a company that focuses on distributing eBooks worldwide.
According to a press announcement, Seven Seas will continue to operate under its existing leadership team and editorial direction. There will be no changes to distribution, publishing schedules, or core operations as due to the acquisition. All Seven Seas Entertainment print imprints will continue to be distributed worldwide by Penguin Random House Publisher Services.
Media Do emphasized its push for worldwide distribution as a major reason for the acquisition. Further, it states that its large language model AI-based “MediaDo Translation System, or MDTS, will be a crucial part of that process alongside the acquisition of Seven Seas It announced the development of the MDTS in April 2025.

Recently, GlobalComix announced a major expansion of its library through a new partnership with renowned publisher Seven Seas Entertainment. The launch of this partnership brings more than 1,000 manga, manhwa, and manhua titles from Seven Seas Entertainment to the platform for digital purchase.
