Sankaku Head, the genius artist responsible for the Himouto! Umaru-chan, announced on his YouTube channel that he will end his pace as a weekly serialization artist. Sankaku stated his health and his growing desire to spend more time with his children as the main factors behind the decision. Following the announcement, Sankaku will now switch to a monthly serialization pace.

Sankaku Head first released the original Himouto! Umaruchan manga in Weekly Young Jump in 2013 and ended it in November 2017. Shueisha shipped the manga’s 12th and final compiled book volume in December 2017. Seven Seas is releasing the manga in English.

The manga also inspired the Akita Imokko! Ebina-chan, Himōto! Umaru-chan S, and Himōto! Umaru-chan SS spinoff manga. Sankaku Head then launched the Himōto! Umaru-chan G manga in Weekly Young Jump in November 2017, and ended it in April 2018.

The main manga inspired its own anime adaptataion which aired in July 2015. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired, and Sentai Filmworks licensed the series for home video. Himouto! Umaru-chan R, the second anime season based on the manga, premiered in Japan in October 2017.

Lastly, here’s a description of the anime via Crunchyroll:

Umaru is a renowned beautiful 16-year-old girl in town, living with her elder brother Taihei. She acts a perfect sister with a kind heart, intelligence and popularity, who everybody admires. So who would believe how true Umaru is at home? Sleeping, gaming, watching TV, eating junk food, drinking cola… that’s almost all she does at home, leaving all the housework to her brother.
