Remedy Entertainment has appointed Jean-Charles Gaudechon as its new CEO, who will take the place of interim CEO Markus Mäki on March 1. Gaudechon previously worked at both EA and CCP Games.

Jean-Charles Gaudechon said the following about his new role in a press release: “I’m excited and honored to join Remedy at a pivotal time. The studio has a unique creative identity and a strong pipeline. My commitment is to protect what makes it special, deliver exceptional games, and scale Remedy in a way that builds lasting value. Remedy has the voice and the ambition to be a pillar of the industry’s future.

We will stay close to players, earn their time and trust, and strengthen our independence in how we build and publish our games, while continuing to work closely with the partners who have supported us along the way. I will be moving to Finland with my family and I’m incredibly excited about getting to work directly with the team at the studio.”

Remedy has previously developed third-person shooters such as Max Payne and Alan Wake. It released Control in 2019 with a positive critical reception, and the survival horror sequel, Alan Wake 2, in 2023 to even greater acclaim. Recently, Remedy Entertainment announced its next major game: CONTROL ResonantResonant will release in 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. Unlike the first game, it will have a large focus on melee combat and Action RPG mechanics.
