Tonight, Square Enix has teased information regarding the English release of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Dear Destiny is set to be released soon. The light novel written by Kazushige Nojima is officially available as of today in Japan, with physical and digital copies out now. Similar to Nojima’s previous Final Fantasy VII novel, Traces of Two Pasts, Dear Destiny is split between both Tifa and Aerith.
According to the Square Enix Store, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Dear Destiny follows the pasts of Tifa Lockhart and Aerith Gainsborough once again. It will also include a story about Cloud’s time in Shinra. On the front cover, Tifa and Aerith are seen in the structures that hold up Midgar, while Cloud’s Buster Sword leans against a column.
Final Fantasy VII Remake: Traces of Two Pasts was released on November 8, 2022, in the United States. The novel explored the pasts of both Tifa and Aerith before the events of Final Fantasy VII Remake. Some elements of this novel were explored in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. One example directly pulled from the novel is Tifa’s cat named Fluffy, which received a full sidequest of its own.
This news comes just around the launch of Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade on Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S. In our 4.5/5 review, we wrote, “Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is an absolute joy to play on Nintendo Switch 2. This fantastic RPG is filled with memorable characters, an amazing narrative, and an engaging combat system that’s almost impossible to put down. The game runs great and looks excellent, with performance consistent at 30 FPS. While some visuals can appear grainy due to heavy DLSS usage, it’s a small trade-off for having this wonderful game on the go.”
