Nintendo has officially unveiled the new features that will be included in version 11.0.0 of Splatoon 3. The update will release on January 29.
The full patch notes for version 11.0.0 are available via Nintendo’s website. The major new features of the new update are as follows:
- Flow Aura
- After splatting multiple opponents in quick succession, a burst of ink will paint the ground around the player. The Flow Aura lasts for 30 seconds, and adds increased run speed, swim speed, ink resistance, and intensify action. Each subsequent splat will add more ink around the player and increase the duration of the Aura.
- Health Bar
- After attacking an opponent, their health bar displays above their head for a few moments. While their health will be obscured if they’re hiding behind cover or under ink, abilities such as Point Sensor or Wave Breaker will expose both their location and health regardless of where they are.
- Hit Detection
- The hit box of players in swim form has been decreased. Further, shorter range weapons have bigger hit boxes, while longer range weapons have a slightly increased hit box.
- Stealth Jump
- The new Stealth Jump gear ability gives players the ability to land on their teammates without their opponents knowing where they will land.
In June 2025, Nintendo officially revealed the next entry and first spin-off in the Splatoon franchise: Splatoon Raiders. Currently, details for the new game, such as its mechanics and release date, are extremely scarce. However, we do know that players take on the role of a mechanic and go on an adventure in the mysterious Spirhalite Islands. The game will also feature the Deep Cut trio in a major role.
Lastly, Splatoon 3 is available now for Nintendo Switch.
