Doraemon the Movie: New Nobita and the Castle of the Undersea Devil is Getting 4D Screenings

The staff of Doraemon the Movie: New Nobita and the Castle of the Undersea Devil revealed that the new Doraemon film will receive 4D screenings when it opens on February 27 in Japan. The 4D screenings for Doraemon the Movie: New Nobita and the Castle of the Undersea Devil include synchronized motion seats, simulated smells, vibrations, lighting effects, and wind and water spray effects.

Tetsuo Yajima returns after directing episodes of the Doraemon TV anime series and contributing to Doraemon the Movie: Nobita’s New Great Adventure into the Underworld, Doraemon the Movie: Nobita and the Steel Troops: The New Age, and Eiga Doraemon: Nobita no Chikyū Symphony. Isao Murayama wrote the new film’s screenplay.

New cast members for the film include: 

  • Shōya Chiba as character El
  • Ryō Hirohashi as Mizunaka Buggy (Underwater Buggy)

Actress Airi Taira is the film’s ambassador, and she’s a voice actress for the film alongside cast members and comedy duo Alco & Peace.

What’s more, the long-running Doraemon TV anime series received a new ending theme song with the October 4, 2025 episode broadcast in Japan. Tani Yuuki performs the new ending theme song “Moshi Monogatari,” which will be the anime’s first new ending theme since 2005.
