Nintendo has announced that it will hold a Nintendo Direct dedicated to Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream on January 29. The direct will last twenty minutes and begin at 6:00 AM PDT/9:00 AM EDT/2 PM GMT.
While Nintendo hasn’t explicitly confirmed what information it will reveal during the direct, it will likely show off more of the upcoming game’s mechanics, features, and more. Additionally, it will likely confirm an exact release date during the event. Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream will release at some point in Spring 2026.
The Nintendo eShop describes the game as follows:
After over ten years, Tomodachi Life is back! Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream comes to Nintendo Switch in spring 2026.
On a small island floating in the sea, Mii characters live their own carefree lives. You’re in charge of this island, so create anyone you’d like to live here as Mii characters, like ones based on friends, family and even yourself. Then, choose their personality, voice, and help your Mii characters enjoy their island life however they see fit. You can see what’s on their minds, help them solve problems, watch them interact, cultivate their friendships and more.
Recently, Nintendo also held a direct dedicated to The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, which will release in theaters on April 1. The newest trailer showcased Yoshi and also teased Birdo, Baby Mario, Baby Luigi, and the giant dinosaur from Super Mario Odyssey. While the voice behind Yoshi hasn’t been officially confirmed, it appears that Kazumi Totaka will continue to voice him almost thirty years after he first provided the sounds of the character in 1997 for Yoshi’s Story.
