The staff of Cyborg 009: Nemesis, a new TV anime adaptation of Shōtarō Ishinomori’s Cyborg 009 manga, released a new teaser trailer. The new Cyborg 009: Nemesis teaser trailer reveals that Kyoko from the rock band Barbee Boys will perform the theme song “Taga Tame ni (For Whom).” This song is a cover of the original theme song for the 1979 Cyborg 009 TV anime series, which was originally performed by Ken Narita and Koorogi ’73.

Ishimori Production announced Cyborg 009: Nemesis is currently in the works at Ishimori Production, and the anime is scheduled to begin streaming in 2026. More details about the staff and cast will be revealed at a later date.

Ishimori initially released the original Cyborg 009 manga in Shonengahosha’s Weekly King magazine in July 1964. Several anime adaptations based on the original Cyborg 009 series have released over the last few years. This includes the 009 Re:Cyborg movie in 2012 and the Cyborg 009 Call of Justice movie in 2016. A crossover original video anime featuring Devilman also released in 2015.

In 2019, Tsuguo Okazaki released the Cyborg 009 Bgooparts Delete manga. Later, in 2024, Scriptwriter Masaki Tsuji and artist Masato Hayase launched the Cyborg 009 Taiheiyō no Bōrei manga (Cyborg 009: Ghost of the Pacific) in April 2024.
