Orbal lock chests are back in The Legend of Heroes: Trails beyond the Horizon with some enticing rewards you won’t want to miss out on. In this spoiler-free guide, you’ll be able to keep track of all the orbal lock chests while progressing Trails beyond the Horizon at your own pace.
There are 14 orbal lock chests in Trails beyond the Horizon, with one appearing in each part of each route. To earn the contents of each orbal lock chest, you must complete a timed hacking mini-game, which become slightly more difficult later into the game. Fortunately, it’s rather straightforward to complete, and you’ll gain some helpful rewards like Arts Plugins, Holo Cores, and Arts Drivers.
To find the orbal lock chests, I advise you have a party member with the Golden Eye Shard Skill enabled. Golden Eye displays all enemies and treasure chests on the minimap, which comes in handy for finding every single treasure chest and orbal lock chest in the game. To enable Golden Eye, you should have a Quartz on the bottom Quartz line that has at least two Mirage points.
Note: there will be slight spoilers for Trails beyond the Horizon, including the Finale chapter, due to the locations of some chests.

Finding all 14 orbal lock chests completes the EX: All Treasure Chests With Orbal Locks Opened achievement, which awards you with 3 Onyx Steel. This is especially useful if you want to craft Onyx Steel weapons in the endgame.
