KochiKame is Getting a New Anime and ‘KochiKame: Ryo-san’s Billion-yen Beat’ Game

The TV anime adaptation of Osamu Akimoto’s KochiKame manga is making a comeback with a “New KochiKame” anime project by studio Gallop. In addition, Shueisha Games and Kairosoft have announced KochiKame: Ryo-san’s Billion-yen Beat, a new city builder sim game for Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.

The new anime is titled Shin Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Kōen-mae Hashutsujo, or simply New Kochikame for short. This anime celebrates the 50th anniversary of the manga, but fans will need to wait until spring 2026 for the anniversary website to open. The anime’s cast will subsequently be revealed in September 2026.

KochiKame: Ryo-san’s Billion-yen Beat is in development with no confirmed release date yet. The Steam version will support English, Traditional Chinese, and Japanese text options.
