A Star Brighter Than the Sun Anime Continues in Season 2

The staff of the TV anime adaptation of Kazune Kawahara’s A Star Brighter Than the Sun manga series announced that anime will continue with season 2, which doesn’t have a release date yet. To celebrate the announcement of A Star Brighter Than the Sun Season 2, Kawahara shared a new illustration on X (formerly Twitter).

A Star Brighter Than the Sun premiered on October 2 on TBS and affiliate channels in Japan before its streaming premiere the following day on Prime Video. 

Motohiro Hata performs the opening theme song “Stellar Days.” In addition, Wanuka performs the ending theme song “Saishin-wa (Latest Episode).”  

The cast of A Star Brighter Than the Sun anime includes:

  • Minori Fujidera as Sae Iwata
  • Yūki Ono as Kōki Kamishiro
  • Taito Ban as Yōta Ayukawa
  • Hina Yomiya as Hisui Onodera
  • Mutsumi Tamura as Mio Kagawa
  • Ryōta Ōsaka as Yūshin Izawa
  • Haruka Shiraishi as Subaru Kamishiro

Aya Kobayashi is directing the anime at Studio KAI. Yasuhiro Nakanishi is handling the series scripts, while Jin Feng Zeng handles the character design. What’s more, Natsumi Tabuchi and Miki Sakurai are composing the music.

Kazune Kawahara initially released the series in Shueisha’s Bessatsu Margaret magazine in 2021. VIZ Media publishes the series in English physically at retail and digitally. Here’s a description of the series’ first volume, via VIZ Media:
