A Star Brighter Than the Sun Anime Premieres October 2

The official website for the upcoming anime adaptation of Kazune Kawahara’s A Star Brighter Than the Sun (Taiyō Yori mo Mabushii Hoshi) manga revealed the first promotional video. The website also revealed the opening song, new cast members, and confirmed the anime’s release date of October 2. The promotional video previews the opening theme “Stellar Days” by Motohiro Hata.

The cast and staff of the A Star Brighter Than the Sun anime include:

  • Minori Fujidera as Sae Iwata
  • Yūki Ono as Kōki Kamishiro
  • Taito Ban as Yōta Ayukawa (new)
  • Hina Yomiya as Hisui Onodera (new)
  • Mutsumi Tamura as Mio Kagawa (new)
  • Ryōta Ōsaka as Yūshin Izawa (new)

Aya Kobayashi is directing the anime at Studio KAI. Yasuhiro Nakanishi is handling the series scripts, while Jin Feng Zeng handles the character design. Natsumi Tabuchi and Miki Sakurai are composing the music.

Kazune Kawahara initially released the series in Shueisha’s Bessatsu Margaret magazine in 2021. Shueisha will release the 11th compiled volume on Thursday, April 24.

Viz Media is publishing the series digitally. It is described as follows:
