Square Enix announced the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series has surpassed six million copies sold worldwide. In addition to the Pixel Remaster sales, the entire Final Fantasy series surpassed 207 million copies sold since its inception in 1987.
The Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster titles are available now for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, iOS via the App Store, and PC via Windows and Steam. All six Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster games are available separately and in the I – VI Bundle. In Final Weapon’s review of the series, we stated the series “strongly preserve[s] the 35-year-long legacy of Final Fantasy with resounding success”.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, the most recent entry in the franchise, is available now for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. Be sure to check out our 5/5 review of the game, where we stated, “Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is a generational RPG that exemplifies everything there is to love about the medium.” Lastly, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is Final Weapon’s Game of the Year for 2024 as well.
What’s more, the Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 versions of Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade will release on January 22, 2026, followed by Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and Remake Part 3 at a later date. Featuring the base game and the Episode INTERmission DLC featuring Yuffie Kisaragi, the Nintendo Switch 2 version includes a “Streamlined Progression” feature, giving players access to unlimited MP and HP, unlimited limit and ATB gauge during battles, 9,999 damage, easier weapon ability acquisition, and more.
