To celebrate the company’s 30th anniversary, ARIKA has released beta code of Fighting EX Layer for Steam, based on the build from EVO Japan 2023. The Fighting EX Layer beta build works as-is on Steam, so the experience may vary based on the player’s specs and environment.
Here’s the full message from ARIKA on Steam:
To commemorate ARIKA’s 30th anniversary, we revised the price of “Fighting EX Layer.”
Additionally, as another 30th-anniversary initiative (limited to the Steam version), we’ve made the festive build that was playable on PS5 at “EVO Japan 2023” available to Steam purchasers via a Steam beta code.
However, because the PS5 build did not allow individual configuration of settings such as interface (input/output devices), resolution, or vertical sync, and we’ve essentially made that build run as-is on Steam, your experience may vary depending on your environment. We ask for your understanding.
There are no plans to expand this beta version in the future. Thank you for your understanding.
Lastly, we would like to thank Mr. Oda and Mr. Kuroki at SNK for graciously approving Terry Bogard’s appearance.
Right before publishing the code, we discovered a bug where, during CPU matches, the CPU “walks” in the air when air-guarding. We decided to pretend we didn’t see it and proceed with the code release.
Beta Code: 8kV4N9OrtoMR
Beta Participation: 202510 – 30th β test
ARIKA previously dropped the price of Fighting EX Layer to just $0.99. The price revision for Fighting EX Layer is already in effect on PC via Steam, and the price of the game on PlayStation 4 should change around November 2.
Fighting EX Layer is available now for PlayStation 4 and Steam. The game is available on Nintendo Switch with the title of Fighting EX Layer: Another Dash.
