Kadokawa has revealed six new cast members for the anime film adaptation of Nowaki Fukamidori’s Whoever Steals This Book novel, which opens in theaters on December 26 in Japan, in the film’s latest trailer.

Daisei Fukuoka directs the anime at Kagome Company (Kagokan). Yasuhiro Nakanishi writes the script, and Michiru Ōshima composes the music. Keiko Kurosawa is the film’s animation director and the character designer. Further, Kagokan founder Yūji Higa is the animation producer, and Kadokawa Animation distributes the film.

Kadokawa first published the novel in 2020. Moreover, a manga adaptation by Kakeru Sora was serialized in Kadokawa’s Young Ace magazine from 2021 to 2023. Yen Press distributes both the novel and the manga in English.
