TOHO Games, Edelweiss, and G2 Studios have announced free-to-play “rice cultivation simulation x exploration battle RPG” Sakuna Hinuka Junreitan launches on February 2026 for Android and iOS in Japan, followed by the Steam version (region-locked to Japan) at a later date. The new mobile game will feature titles from the original Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin game and the anime adaptation, along with original characters like protagonist Hinuka.
In Sakuna Hinuka Junreitan, players can cultivate rice crops and head into battle, similarly to the console game. 16 types of rice can be grown at launch, with each having a representative spirit. One of these spirits can be included in battle parties, which host up to four characters, for dungeon exploration. When cultivating rice, players can adjust their farming arrangements and use specific items to alter the weather and environment for more yields. Harvested rice can be equipped to improve character’s stats.
Characters can be purchased individually from the shop with paid and in-game Yakumo Shard currency. This same currency can be used on gacha banners to get soul gems for character enhancement, along with scene illustrations that can boost specific stats.
