This afternoon, Square Enix revealed a batch of brand-new screenshots for the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade release for Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. These screenshots focus on Episode INTERmission, an additional story packed in that follows Yuffie Kisaragi during the middle of the base game on a mission that explores members of Shinra’s Deepground. Yuffie’s combat is vastly different from the rest of the party, as she strikes quickly and utilizes different ninjutsu attacks. Though she only appears in Episode INTERmission for Final Fantasy VII Remake, Yuffie joins the main party in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.
This, of course, comes alongside the base game, which follows Cloud Strife, Tifa Lockhart, Barret Wallace, and Aerith Gainsborough across Midgar, the city of Mako. What was supposed to be a one-time job evolves into a tale putting the entire planet at risk, and it’s up to the party to put a stop to Sephiroth’s plans.

If you’ve yet to jump into the world of Final Fantasy VII, worry not: all pre-orders include a free copy of the original Final Fantasy VII, so you can experience the beloved 1997 classic. Additionally, Square Enix is preparing to release a demo for both new platforms by the end of the year for new players to experience the opening chapter.
Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is due out January 22 on Nintendo Switch 2 & Xbox Series X|S. The game is available now on PlayStation 5 and PC.
