Niantic and The Pokémon Company announced the “Pokémon Legends: Z-A Celebration Event” will be held in Pokémon GO from October 16 at 10:00 a.m. local time to October 20 at 8:00 p.m. local time.
During the Pokémon Legends: Z-A Celebration Event, Chikorita, Totodile, and Tepig will appear in Timed Research, and Pokémon GO players can buy new avatar items inspired by Lumiose City Pokémon Trainers in the shop. What’s more, Mega Raids will appear more frequently.
Timed Research will give out rewards like XP, Candy, and a Poffin, alongside encounters with either Chikorita, Totodile, or Tepig with a Seasonal Special Background. The first partner Pokémon you choose will have an increased chance to be attracted to Daily Adventure Incense. If players are lucky, they may encounter a Shiny.
There are various featured attacks as well. During the event, Evolve Bayleef to get a Meganium that knows the Charged Attack Frenzy Plant; Evolve Croconaw to get a Feraligatr that knows the Charged Attack Hydro Cannon; and Evolve Pignite to get an Emboar that knows the Charged Attack Blast Burn. Meganium, Feraligatr, and Emboar can also learn their featured attacks via Charged TMs during the event.
In the in-game shop, players will be able to buy the following avatar items:
- Lumiose City Outfit (Fitted)
- Lumiose City Hat (Black)
- Lumiose City Shoes (Red)
- Lumiose City Outfit (Relaxed)
- Lumiose City Hat (White)
- Lumiose City Shoes (Blue)
