Coamix has announced that Norishiro-chan and Sakana Uozumi’s Gals Can’t Be Kind to Otaku!? (Otaku ni Yasashii Gal wa inai!?) manga will receive an anime adaptation in 2026. Fans can follow the manga’s official X account for more details on the anime at a later date.
Norishiro-chan and Uozumi launched the manga series in Coamix’s Monthly Comic Zenon magazine in August 2021. Norishiro-chan writes the manga with art by Uozumi. Coamix released the manga’s 10th compiled book volume on June 20, and the 11th volume will release on October 20 in Japan.
Yen Press licensed the manga in English, and its first volume will be released in English on October 28. Lastly, here’s an overview of the manga series, via Yen Press:
Meet Takuya Seo, an otaku who sits behind the popular gals in class, Ijichi and Amane. Since they’re people from different “castes,” you wouldn’t expect them to have much in common. But when their worlds collide over a borrowed eraser, Takuya slips up about his favorite anime, and Amane…is rather quick to correct him. She says she’s not a fan, but her familiarity with the series suggests otherwise. Could she be…a fellow geek?!
