During Konami’s Tokyo Game Show 2025 broadcast, developer Mebius announced ONI Zero: Cross, a brand-new RPG in the ONI Zero series with characters from the 1995 original PlayStation strategy RPG Sengoku Cyber: Fujimaru Jigokuhen. ONI Zero: Cross is planned for release in 2027 in Japan, and platforms were not confirmed yet.
ONI Zero: Cross is the first new game in the series since the release of ONI Zero: Fukkatsu for PlayStation in March 2001. A sequel titled ONI Zero: Ruten was planned for release in 2001, but it was canceled after developer Pandora Box closed down. The upcoming title will not be a reboot or revival of ONI Zero: Ruten.
Development of the new RPG is being led by Takiya Iijima, who previously worked on the ONI Zero series. ONI Zero: Cross will be a new entry starring Sengoku Cyber: Fujimaru Jigokuhen protagonist Fujimaru Rengoku and his companions as they set out to defeat the dangerous demon “Jikuu Douji.” The story carries the human drama that Iijima is known for.
Iijima also announced Psycho Fujoshi, a fully voiced adventure game starring a psychotic fujoshi. Further details about this game, including visuals, a logo, platforms, and a release date, were not announced yet.
Mebius is also working on the upcoming Bushiroad Games-published visual novel The Ancient Magus’ Bride: Midsummer’s Mirage and the Journey of Dreams, which will release on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam on October 2.
