Nippon Ichi Software has revealed Kyouran Makaism, a new 3D action RPG from veteran Disagea developers, including director Shunsuke Minowa, character designer Takehito Harada, and composer Tenpei Sato. Kyouran Makaism is coming to Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PlayStation 5 on January 29, 2026 in Japan.
The Nintendo Switch version costs 7,920 yen (tax included), while the Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 5 versions cost 9,020 yen (tax included). A Limited Edition will be sold in Japan for 14,300 yen (Switch version costs 13,200 yen) featuring a special box, the soundtrack CD, and an art book.
In Kyouran Makaism, players are back in the familiar Netherworld, and they can pull off flashy techniques with simple controls. There are returning features from Disgaea, including over-leveling and the ability to reincarnate allies to make them grow stronger. Players can even pull off over a billion in damage.

This is the vast Netherworld, where countless demons vie for supremacy.
In one of these many Netherworlds, a veteran mercenary named Nueur is summoned by the Superlative Netherworld overlord Tisiel, who has a shocking request.
“Someone ate the pudding from the refrigerator!”
“I see… wait, the what from the refrigerator?”
The pudding in question is the First Radiance Pudding, created by Tisiel’s now-deceased father, the former Superlative Overlord. It was eaten by a subordinate who staged a rebellion, and Tisiel wants it back.
Thus begins the battle to reclaim the First Radiance Pudding, led by a lone mercenary and a fledgling overlord…!
