Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter Reveals Switch 2 Frame Rate and Resolution

Fans can upgrade from the Switch version to the Switch 2 version for $1.

The Nintendo eShop page for the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter has revealed new details about performance and frame rates for the game. In addition to improved performance over the Nintendo Switch version, fans can enjoy sharper visuals in docked mode on Nintendo Switch 2.

According to the Nintendo eShop, Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter Nintendo Switch 2 Edition includes “enhanced gameplay” with up to 4K at 30 FPS and 1080p at 60 FPS. These likely refer to performance and quality-focused graphics modes that players could be able to toggle via in-game settings.

Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter launches September 19 for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam worldwide. Fans who purchase Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter on Switch can upgrade to the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition ($1 upgrade pack fee). Players can test out the battle system in the Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter Prologue demo, which supports save data transfers over to the full game. 

The Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter SteelBook Edition ($79.99) will be available on launch day, September 19, while the Bracer Edition ($179.99) will be delivered between November 15 and December 15. A Launch Celebration Pack will be available to all players two weeks after the game’s launch for a one-month period, but it will always be available to those who purchase one of the two Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter Collector’s Editions.

What’s more, Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter will receive various DLC packs, which will be released between September 19 and October 2. The Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter DLC packs feature various cosmetics and additional items.
