Spike Chunsoft has announced Danganronpa 2×2, the latest entry in the long-running Danganronpa series launching in 2026 for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Danganronpa 2×2 is an enhanced version of the original Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair with a revamped story and and all-new scenario.

The story unfolds in chapters and each is divided into three main parts:

- Daily Life – Experience the Ultimate Students’ lives inside the academy via interactive conversation with your fellow classmates and exploration of the academy. During this part, major events take place, such as escape attempts and Monokuma presenting the students with motives to kill.
- Investigation – When a murder occurs and a body is discovered, an investigation begins. You’ll examine the crime scene, talk to other Ultimate Students, and collect evidence needed to solve the case.
- Class Trial – Using the evidence you’ve gathered, you’ll join the Class Trial. The Ultimate Students will use their unique talents to debate the case from different angles. Your goal is to expose any contradictions and reveal the true culprit.
