Sony Interactive Entertainment and Arc System Works have begun to send out emails for the MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls closed beta test, as pointed out by Wario64 on X (formerly Twitter). Gamers who receive emails will have access to the MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls closed beta test once it begins on September 5.
The MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls closed beta test will be held on PlayStation 5 from September 5 to 7. The closed beta test will feature six playable characters, online matches with rollback netcode, spectator mode, lobbies, spectator mode, a training tutorial, and more.
Previously, a demo of MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls was playable at EVO 2025, which ran from August 1 to 3 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. The MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls demo included the following playable characters: Captain America, Iron Man, Storm, Star Lord, Ms. Marvel, and Doctor Doom. These characters will likely be playable in the closed beta test as well.
Developed by Arc System Works in cooperation with Marvel Games and Sony Interactive Entertainment, MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls will release in 2026 for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store as the first new Marvel fighting game in nearly ten years, with the last one being Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite. Lastly, the game will have crossplay between platforms and English dub voices, along with Japanese voice-overs.
