During Anime NYC 2025, Crunchyroll announced the anime adaptation of Alto and Yuunagi’s The Banished Court Magician Aims to Become the Strongest light novel series will be streaming on the service as soon as it premieres on October 4. Crunchyroll will stream The Banished Court Magician Aims to Become the Strongest worldwide, excluding Asia.
Kiro Akiyama will perform the opening theme song “Quest,” and Aruma will perform the ending theme song “Kakera” (Fragment).
The cast of the anime includes:
- Shūichirō Umeda as Alec Ygret
- Yurika Kubo as Yorha Eisenz
- Masumi Tazawa as Krasia Annerose
- Masaaki Mizunaka as Ornest Rain
- Atsushi Abe as Regulus Caldana
- Hikaru Midorikawa as Eldas Mikayla
Ken Takahashi is directing the anime at Gekkō with Masamune Hirata as assistant director. Kazuyuki Fudeyasu is handling the series scripts, and Yōko Satō is handling the character design with Nobuhide Hayashi as the sub-character designer. Diosta inc. and High Speed Boy inc. are composing the music.
Alto serialized the story on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website from October 2020 to September 2022. Kodansha published the first volume of the print version with illustrations by Yuunagi in August 2021. Moreover, Kodansha published the fifth volume in August 2024.
