Aniplex announced Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- Infinity Castle – Akaza Returns became the 4th highest-earning film of all time in Japan, surpassing the likes of Makoto Shinkai’s your name. and Disney’s Frozen.
The Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- Infinity Castle – Akaza Returns film sold 18,272,941 tickets for 25,782,656,600 yen (roughly $174.9 million) in its 31 days at the box office. In comparison, Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- Mugen Train sold 17,505,285 tickets and earned 23,349,291,050 yen (roughly $223 million at the time) in its first month at the box office.
The Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- Infinity Castle film heads to theaters for the general public in US and Canada on September 12 with English dubs and subs. Limited early screenings will open in the US on September 9 at 7:00 p.m. local time for Crunchyroll Mega and Ultimate Fan subscribers. Tickets for the early screenings are available via Fandango Rewards.
