During the Gintama Multiverse Festival, the staff of the Gintama series announced a new Gintama film project will adapt the anime’s Yoshiwara in Flames arc. The New Gintama the Movie: Yoshiwara in Flames film will premiere in 2026 in Japan.

Hideki Sorachi’s popular Gintama series began with the manga in 2004 and ran all the way until June 2021. The Gintama Yoshiwara in Flames arc premiered in 2009 and ran for eight episodes.
Moreover, the GINTAMA – Mr. Ginpachi’s Zany Class (3rd Year Class Z Ginpachi-sensei) spinoff anime will premiere on October 6. Botchi Boromaru performs the opening theme song “Sakurakaze (Cherry Blossom Wind),” and LONGMAN performs the ending theme song “Underclass HERO.”
Natsumi Higashida is directing the 3rd Year Class Z Ginpachi-sensei anime at BN Pictures. Makoto Moriwaki is the general director, and Kazuyuki Fudeyasu and Mitei Mark II handle the series composition. In addition, Gintama animation director Shinji Takeuchi returns for the project, and Audio Highs will compose the anime’s music.
Tomohiko Osaki launched the story of the 3rd Year Class Z Ginpachi-sensei novel series in 2006, and its still ongoing. In 3rd Year Class Z Ginpachi-sensei, Gintoki Sakata is a high school teacher in charge of Class 3-Z at Gintama High School. 2025’s combined 36th and 27th issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump confirmed the 3rd Year Class Z Ginpachi-sensei novel series is getting a new volume on October 3, titled Oide yo Rinkan Gakkō, or Going on a School Camp.
