In a new financial report from Remedy Entertainment, the company shared a development on Control 2 and the Max Payne 1-2 remakes. Additionally, Remedy confirmed that Control has officially passed 5 million copies sold.
The financial report reveals that four games are currently in active development at Remedy: FBC: Firebreak, which will continue to receive new updates, Control 2, the Max Payne 1-2 remakes, and an unannounced “new project.” While details about this new project are scarce, it’s possible that it might be a new entry in the Alan Wake franchise. When speaking about both Control 2 and the Max Payne remakes, Remedy gave the following updates:
“Control 2 development is on track towards meeting its next milestones. The focus is now on the gameplay, environments, and missions. Work continues on developing the game into a strong commercial offering.
The Max Payne 1 & 2 remake project continues its progress and remains in full production. In the second quarter, the team built on steady momentum from earlier in the year. Collaboration with Rockstar Games remains close and productive, ensuring alignment as the project advances toward its next major phase.”
FBC: Firebreak, Remedy’s latest game, released on June 17. It is a cooperative first-person shooter set in the same universe as Control. The game is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
We reviewed FBC: Firebreak and rated it a 2.5/5, describing it as a “game that lacks a cohesive identity. While the gameplay formula is solid, the repetitive missions, objectives, and grinding for new unlocks are more monotonous than fun. Additionally, the lack of a proper narrative compared to other games from Remedy Entertainment makes it a hard game to justify purchasing whether you’re a fan of its previous titles or simply a fan of the multiplayer co-op genre.”
