During the latest Suikoden Live broadcast, Konami announced Suikoden: The Anime, the anime adaptation of Suikoden II, will premiere in 2026. Suikoden: The Anime will be the first anime series directly handled by Konami animation when it premieres in 2026.
Yūzō Satō directs Suikoden: The Anime at Konami animation. NBCUniversal Entertainment Japan anime and music production department member Ryō Hino is the anime’s producer and production manager.
Previously, Konami animation released a Yu-Gi-Oh’s 25th anniversary short, titled “Yu-Gi-Oh! Card Game The Chronicles.” When the studio was established, Konami explained that Konami Animation intends to invest in CG technology and know-how fostered from game development into animation. The studio will adapt Konami’s own intellectual properties and IPs from other companies.
Suikoden: Star Leap is coming soon to Android, iOS, and PC via Steam. The new game features gacha elements and events, but the new title retains the Suikoden franchise’s signature combat system. Out of 108 stars, players can assemble a “dream team” of their favorite Suikoden heroes for battle.
Aki Shimizu, the manga author for the Suikoden III manga, returns to work on an official Suikoden: Star Leap manga series. Shimizu is also currently working on The Mononoke Lecture Logs of Chuzenji-sensei series, with 10 volumes released so far.
Suikoden I & II HD Remaster Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars launches March 6 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. The Nintendo Switch 2 version launched on June 5 alongside the console.
