Netcode Warriors Releases Extended Gameplay Trailer

Son Studios just unveiled an extended gameplay trailer of Netcode Warriors at EVO 2025. This is an anime-style arena fighter that is inspired by Digimon. In fact, Kenji Watanabe and Soh Morimiya, renowned for their work on Digimon, are character designers for the game.

The game is reportedly equipped with a story mode to cater to those who want to immerse themselves in the game’s universe. The story follows protagonists as they explore a new world that can change their lives dramatically. However, they are not alone and must battle to achieve their dreams and ensure their survival. The specific plot details of Netcode Warriors remain unclear. 

Additionally, the online multiplayer experience features rollback netcode to support smooth and responsive gameplay. Players can explore many modes, such as ranked, casual, and lobby matches. Additionally, players will have the ability to spectate friends’ matches in custom lobbies. Lastly, Netcode Warriors offers a variety of gameplay modes, including a training mode, an arcade mode, a split screen for local play, and a local tournament mode. Survival and combo challenges are offline modes to look forward to as well.

For those present at EVO 2025 who are interested in the game, Netcode Warriors is currently available to try out at EVO 2025’s Indie Game Devs Area.

Lastly, Son Studios is also developing a 2.5D tag team fighting game called Saturday AM: Battle Manga that brings together characters from several of Saturday AM’s original manga series. The game will feature a 2v2 tag battle format and include fighters from titles such as Apple BlackClock StrikerMassively Multiplayer World of GhostsSoul Beat, and more.
