SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio announced Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O World Stage will release on October 30 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, followed by the Nintendo Switch 2 version at a later date. The game will feature a brand-new mode, the new DLC character Dural, cross-play across all platforms, rollback netcode, and more.
The main highlight of the updated game is the new World Stage mode, which lets players fight famous real-life players as CPU to battle. Fight your way through these challenges in Quest Mode-inspired fashion to become the greatest fighter. SEGA is currently taking submissions for player names to appear in World Stage.
Moreover, a closed beta test for Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O World Stage will be held in early September on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam with cross-play. It’s free for all players, and those who participate earn a free in-game title in the full game.
All Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O players on Steam will receive the World Stage edition of the game via a free update. On PlayStation 5, Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown players purchase the new edition for a discounted price of $9.99 (MSRP: $19.99) with DLC carrying over. Pre-orders for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions open on August 1 at 2:00 p.m. PDT / 5:00 p.m. EDT with the SEGA Genesis character customization item as a pre-order bonus. Pre-orders for the Switch 2 version open at a later date.
