Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising is unlocking the entire base roster for all Free Edition players. From 7:00 p.m. PT on July 31 to 7:00 p.m. PT on August 7, all 28 characters from the game’s base roster will be fully unlocked and playable at no cost.
This week-long event offers players the opportunity to explore the entire cast without any paywall restrictions. This promotion commemorates GBVSR‘s presence at EVO 2025, which takes place in Las Vegas from August 1 to 3.
Moreover, Arc System Works and Cygames announced that Rising‘s upcoming DLC character Wilnas will be playable at EVO 2025. This Season 2 DLC character will be released this summer alongside Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising version 2.20. Players can try him out at the Cygames EVO 2025 booth. Meg will follow up in fall 2025, followed by Ilsa in early 2026.
Additionally, the Cygames booth will hold a beta test for the new “Smart” and “Super Ultimate” control schemes, which are designed for casual players and beginners in mind. The booth will also have exclusive merchandise, including returning merch from EVO Japan.
This past February, Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising received a new DLC update featuring characters from the comedy digital manga series Pop Team Epic. The DLC includes premium lobby avatars of Popuko and Pipimi, which can also be configured as in-game partners. Additionally, the package provides two exclusive badges for players to display on their profiles. The DLC is priced at $5.99.
Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising is officially a part of the main game lineup at EVO 2025 alongside Tekken 8, Guilty Gear Strive, Under Night In-Birth II Sys:Celes, Mortal Kombat 1, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, and Marvel vs Capcom 2. EVO 2025 will run from August 1 to 3 at the Los Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
