Sony is hiring for a new senior director of multiplatform and account management at PlayStation as part of a new business strategy to bring games to multiple platforms, including Nintendo, Xbox, Steam, and Epic Games Store. Players first saw an inkling of the multiplatform strategy when Sony licensed its IPs to Bandai Namco, allowing them to bring EVERYBODY’S GOLF: Hot Shots, Patapon 1+2 Replay, and Freedom Wars Remastered to Nintendo Switch and PC this year.
The overview of the new job listing reads, “Reporting to the Vice President, Commercial Management as Senior Director of Multiplatform & Account Management, you will play a critical leadership role in shaping and executing the global commercial strategy for PlayStation Studios software titles across all digital platforms beyond PlayStation hardware, including Steam, Epic Games Store, Xbox, Nintendo, and mobile. This role is accountable for optimizing title profitability, ensuring cross-functional alignment, and leading a high-performing team focused on multiplatform expansion, mid-range commercial planning, and platform partner management.”
The job listing also reads that the new hire will be leading platform relationships across PC and console ecosystems, ensuring there’s strong collaboration, promotional effectiveness, and performance optimization. In short, the hire will help lead Sony and its teams in order bring PlayStation games to Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, along with any other services that may be working across platforms as well.
Moreover, the hire will direct and develop a team of senior managers for the multiplatform strategy at Sony. This includes reporting to senior manager of platform sales and the manager of platform planning & performance for PC and Xbox at Sony.
