SNEG has announced that two classic Dungeons & Dragons games will release on PC via Steam in August 2025. The two games that will re-release are DUNGEONS & DRAGONS: Dragonshard and Forgotten Realms: Demon Stone.
Dragonshard initially released in 2005 and features RTS combat. It features modern‑resolution support, localisation‑friendly saves, and smoother timers and physics. It also includes ASLR compatibility and other under‑the‑hood fixes for a cleaner experience on today’s PCs. The game is described as follows:
Dragonshard is a real-time strategy experience based in the mystical world of Eberron, the acclaimed DUNGEONS & DRAGONS realm. Within this wholly imaginative setting lives an inventive gameplay fusion: dramatic RTS play is affected by the risks and rewards of a thrilling RPG-styled underworld. As players direct troops over the land, they also plunge smaller, hero-led parties below ground to an RPG-modeled world of beasts, battles and bounty.
On the other hand, Forgotten Realms: Demon Stone is a melee-combat based action game that first launched in 2004. It features smoother startup and gameplay, proper widescreen scaling, and borderless/windowed modes. There’s also optimized shadows, adjustable audio, and a new in‑game settings menu for modern PCs. The store page describes it as follows:
Within this awe-inspiring, DUNGEONS & DRAGONS world, a fighting saga begins. Control a party of three — a fighter, a sorcerer and a rogue — in a quest to right a wrong and shape the future. Switch characters on the fly to exploit each warrior’s specialized fighting styles (projectile/ranged, melee and sneak combat) and maximize each character’s attributes. The right moves will build the party into a well-balanced fighting trio.
