Papergames and Infold Games announced Infinity Nikki Version 1.8 “Danqing Season” will launch on July 30 with a focus on Chinese cultural artistry. The season will last until September 2 and feature a story that takes players to Danqing Island, which is described as “a place where brushstroke and reality blur into one.”

The season is named after the ancient Chinese word for painting, “danqing,” which refers to the red and blue-green pigments used in classical art. In the story, Nikki and Momo follow strange ripples in the Sea of Stars that lead them to a mysterious scroll and Danqing Island, a secluded dreamlike realm. It’s up to Nikki to solve the mysteries and uncover secrets on the island in order to save the villagers there.

Danqing Season offers a range of mini-games and activities as well, including traditional Weiqi (Go), bamboo rafts, photo opportunities with aesthetic filters rooted in classical Chinese design. Players can collect elegant costumes inspired by historic fashion, and the season’s new boss, Inkshade: Painting Loong, will also be introduced.

Infinity Nikki Version 1.8 Danqing Season also includes the following costumes:

  • Clouded Loong (5-star outfit) – Summon a white dragon and soar through the skies alongside friends. Inspired by the Soaring Loong—an ancient Chinese symbol of grace, wisdom, and good fortune—this design embodies the noble elegance of a guardian between heaven and earth.
  • Forever Bond (5-star outfit) – Unleash a venomous talisman that triggers poison mist and leaves behind a haunting makeup effect, even in photo mode. This outfit draws from legends of the spirit cat, a mystical shapeshifter said to guide and protect travelers from the spirit realm.
  • Danqing Craft (Ability outfit) – Grants Nikki the power to restore objects turned to ink back to their original form, transforming her surroundings through inspiration and artistry.
