Square Enix published a new FAQ page for Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake to answer many of the community’s burning questions and confirm that there’s no upgrade from the Nintendo Switch version to Nintendo Switch 2. There are no plans for an upgrade path in the future, so players will need to pick their preferred version of Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake.
As previously confirmed, players with Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake save data will receive the Marvelous Makeover Kit featuring a dog suit in Dragon Quest I and a cat suit in Dragon Quest II. Square Enix confirmed save data from the Nintendo Switch version of Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake can unlock bonuses in the Switch 2 version of Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake, as long as the player uses the same Nintendo account.
Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake launches October 30 for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store. Pre-orders are available now for $59.99 with the include the Trouble-Free Travel Kit as an additional bonus. Moreover, a Collector’s Edition will be available in the Square Enix Store, and the game will be a game-key card title in Japan.
Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake is out now for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Moreover, Square Enix released Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake update 1.1.0 with various traversal and vocation improvements, a new short-cut button feature for spells and abilities, and battle adjustments.
