Take-Two Games has confirmed that NBA 2K26 will release on September 5. It has also confirmed the multiple editions that will be available and the features of the Nintendo Switch 2 version.
The All-Star point guard of the Oklahoma City Thunder, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, will be the game’s cover athlete on the Standard Edition. The standard edition costs $69.99 on PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2, and costs $59.99 on the original Nintendo Switch. Angel Reese of the Chicago Sky will be the cover athlete of the WNBA Edition, a GameStop exclusive physical edition for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, priced at $69.99.
Carmelo Anthony, the 2025 Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Inductee, will be on the Superstar Edition. The Superstar Edition is $99.99, available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, and includes 100,000 VC, MyCareer content, MyTeam Content, and early access which starts on August 29. Lastly, the Leave No Doubt edition features all of the aforementioned cover athletes, everything in the Superstar Edition, an extra 35,000 VC, a Season 1 Pro Pass, a Summer Pass, and the previously stated early access. All editions are available to pre-order now.
NBA 2K25 players will receive a 10% Loyalty Discount when pre-ordering the Leave No Doubt Edition of NBA 2K26 on the same console platform. Additionally, the Nintendo Switch 2 version of NBA 2K26 will include “Gen 9 support” and full feature parity with the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC versions of the game. Crossplay is also supported.
