A panel during Japan Expo 2025 in Paris, France announced a new anime series based on Junji Ito Crimson, Junji Ito’s collection of various manga stories, is in the works. A new trailer was also revealed, along with additional details.
Singer Yumi Matsutōya will perform the Junji Ito Crimson theme song “Karasu Ageha.” The latest trailer for anime plays the theme song and feaures illustrations by Ito himself. The main character, Karasu Ageha, plays a role of connecting the underworld and the present world. The song will be included in Matsutōya’s upcoming 40th original album, which releases this fall.
Crunchyroll will stream the Junji Ito Crimson anime series as it airs in Japan. Further details about the anime will be revealed at a later date. Crunchyroll currently streams the Junji Ito Collection and describes it as follows:

Junji Ito built a cult following through his incredible works like Tomie and Uzumaki. His works have also inspired games such as WORLD OF HORROR. Moreover, Ito’s most recent work includes Tomie: Control, a one-shot manga released in April 2024 in the Nemuki+ magazine. Tomie: Control is not available in English officially.
