The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy Will Get a ‘More Challenging Mode’ and an Official Artbook

    More updates to come.

    Published:

The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy director Kazutaka Kodaka confirmed that the game will receive “more challenging mode” in a future update. In addition, Kodaka announced that the game will receive an official artbook.

Kodaka would like an anime adaptation of The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy if it continues to sell well. It’s unclear whether the anime would follow the events of the game or adapt a new original story, but Kodaka would like even more players to enjoy the game first. Kodaka also confirmed that the game is selling well on Nintendo Switch and PC thanks to word of mouth.

The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy is expected to receive multiple free updates with fixes and features based on player feedback. According to XSEED Games, the first of the various free updates will include the ability to skip morning and evening bell screen animations, along with a skip feature for previously viewed content.

Currently, there are no plans to develop a port of the game to PlayStation 5 or other platforms. According to Kodaka, there were constraints in manpower and funding for the game, and ports to other platforms would be costly. Instead, the developers want to focus on releasing updates.

Before the game’s launch for Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam, Final Weapon reviewed The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy and gave it a 4 out of 5 score. Our review praises the RPG’s intriguing cast of characters, easy pick-up and play combat system, and compelling elements reminiscent of Kodaka’s Danganronpa franchise.
