The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy to Receive Multiple Free Updates

Improvements and bug fixes on the way.

    Published:

XSEED Games, Aniplex, and Too Kyo Games announced The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy will receive multiple free updates. The updates will have fixes and features based on player feedback.

According to XSEED Games, the first of the various free updates for The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy will include the ability to skip morning and evening bell screen animations, along with a skip feature for previously viewed content.

Here’s the list of the planned changes for the first free update:

    • Battles similar to those already cleared can now be skipped for certain routes.
    • The morning and evening bell screen animations can now be skipped.
    • The button press time required to skip movies has been shortened.
    • Improved the battle content in Chapter00_1-100.
    • Additional bug fixes.

The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy director Kazutaka Kodaka would like an anime adaptation of the game if it continues to sell well. It’s unclear whether the anime would follow the events of the game or adapt a new original story, but Kodaka would like even more players to enjoy The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy first. Kodaka also confirmed that The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy is selling well on Nintendo Switch and PC thanks to word of mouth.

Currently, there are no plans for a port of The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy to PlayStation 5 or other platforms. According to Kodaka, there were constraints in manpower and funding for the game, and ports to other platforms would be costly.

Lastly, Final Weapon reviewed The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy and gave it a 4 out of 5 score. Our review praises the RPG’s intriguing cast of characters, easy pick-up and play combat system, and compelling elements reminiscent of Kodaka’s Danganronpa franchise.
