On the Nintendo Today app, Nintendo revealed new footage of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet running on Nintendo Switch 2 at 60 FPS. As previously announced, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will be optimized for the Nintendo Switch 2 display and high-resolution TVs for improved image quality, with a better and smoother FPS, in a free update on June 5.
The Pokémon Company and Game Freak previously announced Pokémon Legends: Z-A will launch on October 16 for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. Players who purchase either the physical or digital version for Nintendo Switch may upgrade to the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition by purchasing an upgrade pack on the Nintendo eShop and My Nintendo Store.
In addition, The Pokémon Company will host a Pokémon Presents digital presentation on July 22 on the official Pokémon YouTube channel. Ahead of the game’s release, new Mega Charizard X and Y, Mega Venusaur, Mega Gengar, Mega Lucario, and other themed merchandise will be available at Pokémon Center in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
Nintendo Switch 2 will launch on June 5 for $449.99. A bundle will be available for $499.99 featuring Mario Kart World. Pre-orders for Nintendo Switch 2 at Best Buy, Walmart and Target went live on April 24 and quickly sold out within just a few hours. However, Nintendo and other retailers will periodically replenish stock leading into launch. Other games like Cyberpunk 2077 and upgrade packs for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom will also be available.
