Embracer Group has announced that it will be spinning off the Coffee Stain Group into its own standalone company. Coffee Stain’s shares will be distributed to the shareholders of Embracer.
Last year, Embracer announced its intention to split its assets across three standalone companies. These companies are “Asmodee Group,” “Coffee Stain & Friends,” and “Middle-earth Enterprises & Friends.” Some of the games under the trio’s banner include Goat Simulator, Deep Rock Galactic, Dead Island, Tomb Raider, and more. Embracer separated Asmodee from itself in February 2025.
Now, Coffee Stain will also spin-off from its parent company. In a statement, Embracer states that Coffee Stain is a “standalone group of community-driven game developers and publishers by the end of calendar year 2025.” It also revealed that Middle Earth & Friends will now be titled Fellowship Entertainment.
The three companies are described as follows:
- “Asmodee Group”
- “A global leading tabletop games publisher and distributor with an extensive studio network and IP catalogue.”
- Ticket to Ride, 7 Wonders, Azul, CATAN, Dobble, Exploding Kittens and an extensive number of distributed games and IPs are under their banner.
- They are also developing a wide range of licensed tabletop games based on The Lord of the Rings, Marvel, Game of Thrones, Netflix, Lego and Star Wars.
