EA Aims to Bring Parity Between EA Sports FC and Madden NFL on Switch 2 and Other Consoles

The Switch 2 as much similarities with other versions "as the hardware allows."

EA Sports has announced that future EA Sports FC and Madden NFL games for the Nintendo Switch 2 will have feature parity with other console versions. Further, EA will design the new versions with the new hardware in mind.

An EA spokesperson told Eurogamer, “Both experiences are being built specifically for the new handheld platform, grounded in what fans enjoy from our franchises across platforms…We’ll share more details on the Madden NFL and FC experiences for Switch 2 at a later date, but our goal is always to deliver a consistent player experience across platforms as much as the hardware allows.”

Feature parity means that the version of the game you purchase on the Nintendo Switch 2 will be very similar to the version you will find on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Previously, EA has released “Legacy” versions of its sports games that included very limited features.

EA has not yet confirmed the full scope of the feature parity that the Nintendo Switch 2 release of EA Sports FC and Madden NFL will have with other versions. However, there will likely be far more similarities between different console releases in comparison to the previous “Legacy” editions.

Nintendo Switch 2 will release on June 5, 2025. Mario Kart World will release alongside the system. The console will be available to purchase for $449.99 at launch in the United States, as confirmed by Nintendo. A bundle including Mario Kart World will also release for $499.99. While pre-orders would’ve initially gone live on April 9, Nintendo has delayed the date in the United States due to recent tariffs
