Nintendo has provided a first-look at the Nintendo Switch Online and eShop UI for the Nintendo Switch 2. The UI appears to have the same minimalistic style as its predecessor.

Nintendo’s Japanese website revealed new images Nintendo Switch Online app, the home screen, and the eShop on Nintendo Switch 2. Most of the user interface is very similar to the one from the original Nintendo Switch. It’s worth noting that the Nintendo eShop on Nintendo Switch 2 won’t have music, however.

Recently, Nintendo announced that they have delayed Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders in Canada. It made the decision in order to align orders with the new pre-order timing in the United States. Originally, pre-orders would’ve started on April 9.

Back in 2019, the company moved much of its production of Nintendo Switch to Vietnam to avoid any potential impact of tariffs between the United States and China. In regard to Nintendo Switch 2, the U.S. government has placed a 46% tariff Vietnam’s exports to the country. In a report, Vietnam General Secretary Tô Lâm expressed interest in cutting tariffs on the United States “down to zero” if a deal can be reached. Both governments have announced nothing at this time.

Nintendo Switch 2 will release on June 5, 2025. Mario Kart World will release alongside the system. The console will be available to purchase for $449.99 at launch in the United States, as confirmed by Nintendo. A bundle including Mario Kart World will also release for $499.99.
